Pride and disappointment for Carlos Checa.

Contradictory feelings after the race in Miller Motorsports Park. On one hand a great satisfaction to prove to be a step ahead in Salt Lake City, and on the other hand, an immense sadness to be forced to quit the two races whilst leading the contest.

An impeccable first race with a great start led him to be ahead of Biaggi and to take the initiative. After leading the race for seventeen laps, with a 1.6 second advantage over Biaggi, Checa’s Ducati engine stopped due to an electric problem preventing him from winning.

Unfortunately the second race of the Ducati also ceased with a bitter end; on lap 8, whilst running in first position with 2 second advantage over Biaggi, Checa had to withdraw due to mechanical problems on the bike.
